CYBERSECURITY AT JACKSON COLLEGE

The cybersecurity program at Jackson College offers a cybersecurity associate degree option and cybersecurity courses to prepare to transfer to a four-year university. The courses in the cybersecurity program help prepare students for a variety of industry and vendor certifications.

Start your cybersecurity education at Jackson College and prepare to become a cybersecurity analyst. They may plan, monitor, and test computer systems for security and implement appropriate security controls. They may install and use software, such as firewalls and data encryption programs, to protect sensitive information. They may also perform penetration testing, using simulation of attacks to look for vulnerabilities in an organization’s computer system before they may be exploited by hackers.
Through cybersecurity classes, you will learn vital skills for your career including:

Writing clearly, concisely, and intelligibly
Recognizing the importance of equity and inclusion in a diverse society
Computational skills and mathematical reasoning
Demonstrating scientific reasoning
Understanding human behavior and social systems, and the principles which govern them

Grants
By completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), students automatically apply for the major federal grant programs.

Loans
Almost all students qualify for loans, regardless of family income. To be eligible, students must be enrolled in at least six credit hours in an eligible program for financial aid.

Scholarships
Many students can qualify for scholarships, with opportunities for financial need, merit based, and for students with disabilities.

Work Study
Provides students with financial need the chance to work part-time jobs on campus to help pay for their education expenses.

Student employment is now open to all students where opportunities are available.
